New Estuary Press Video on “Stop the Delta Tunnels”
On December 13, 2013, Californians for a Fair Water Policy gathered on the north steps of the state Capitol in Sacramento to voice opposition to the Governor’s Water Export Tunnels proposal released that day for public comment. CFWP brings together a broad coalition of groups who oppose the project, including the Southern California Watershed Alliance, Contra Costa County Taxpayers Association, Environmental Water Caucus, Pacific Coast Federation of Fishermen’s Associations, Friends of the River, Five Delta Counties Farm Bureau Caucus, California Sportfishing Protection Alliance, Winemem Wintu Tribe, Butte Environmental Council, California Striped Bass Association, Save Auburn Ravine Salmon and Steelhead, Local Agencies of the North Delta and Stone Lakes National Wildlife Refuge Association, California Delta Chambers of Commerce, and Restore the Delta.
Estuary Press supports the fight to stop the tunnels and showed up at the rally to video the event to help spread the word and increase public opposition to the tunnel proposals. Please watch and listen to the speakers and join in the effort. Share this post widely and spread the word. These tunnels must be defeated to reverse the direction of environmental degradation and special interest plundering that characterizes California water policy today.
