A poem by Naomi Quiñonez
from the new forthcoming episode of Literary Dialogs with Nina Serrano and La Raza Chronicles (KPFA FM)
The New Warsaw Ghetto is today’s border
I am so excited to share this poem by Naomi Quiñonez with you that I have excerpted it from my newest episode of Literary Dialogs with Nina Serrano featuring Naomi Quiñonez now being edited. This remarkable poem feels too hot to wait patiently for it’s turn to go live and be publicly broadcast. In this amazing poem, Naomi brings together her sense of history with her observations of our current ecological moment. It also links the flagrant racism of today with the World War II ( 1939-1945) Nazi take-over of Poland in the 1940’s with brutal fascist destruction of the Warsaw Jewish Ghetto.
“The New Warsaw Ghetto” also carries a warning along with it:
“Careful, haters, lest you become a refugee.”

The video of this poem is a preview of the forthcoming episode of Literary Dialogs with Nina Serrano featuring Naomi Quiñonez, now being finalized.
